More than six decades after the Holocaust, genocide and other mass atrocities remain a threat to world peace and security. Effective genocide and mass atrocity prevention requires a multi-dimensional approach. The Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities is dedicated to developing government capacity to prevent genocide and mass atrocities. We train government officials, offer technical assistance for policy development inspired by local conditions and practices, and encourage states to establish national bodies tasked with genocide prevention within their borders and region.
