Lemkin Seminar, Global Edition
The Global Raphael Lemkin Seminar for Genocide Prevention is one of the main pillars of the Auschwitz Institute’s work. Through the “power of place” at the former German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau in Oświęcim, Poland, we provide our participants with the opportunity to make a personal investment and commitment to the field of genocide prevention.
Latin American Program
AIPR serves as Technical Secretariat of the Latin American Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention. Launched in March 2012, the Network is the world’s leading initiative fostering capacity building and policy development in this field. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called the Latin American Network an effective “partnership for prevention.”
Africa Programs
Our programs in Africa aim to familiarize state officials and civil society leaders in AU Member States with the concept of genocide, its relation to the broader category of mass atrocity, and the process by which genocide occurs. We are directly working with individual practitioners, regional organizations, and national mechanisms by offering technical assistance and capacity building for genocide and mass atrocity prevention across the African continent.
U.S. Program
Sustainable genocide and mass atrocity prevention starts at home – a fact that drives the U.S. Programs of the Auschwitz Institute. AIPG works with partners across the U.S. Government, academia, and civil society to advance atrocity prevention.
