AIPR Signs Cooperation Agreement With Rutgers–Newark

May 12, 2011, New York — The Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (AIPR) today signed an agreement establishing a partnership with the Center for the Study of Genocide, Conflict Resolution, and Human Rights of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in Newark.

Executive Director Tibi Galis signed the agreement for AIPR, while Gary Roth, Vice Chancellor for Academic Programs and Services, signed on behalf of Rutgers University, Newark.

The three-year agreement provides for AIPR and the CSGCRHR to link websites and to explore areas for the two organizations to cooperate, including research projects, scholarly publications, internships, conferences and workshops, educational initiatives, and exchanges.

The Center for the Study of Genocide, Conflict Resolution, and Human Rights seeks to enhance understanding of and find solutions to the most pressing 21st-century challenges. To this end, the Center promotes cutting-edge research and scholarship on related issues such as genocide, conflict resolution, environmental change, sustainable development, transitional justice, and human rights abuses.
